I had to go back in time to find some old pics and figure out what hikes they were, but I think I am all caught up. I hope to post about many more hikes this summer as I complete them (especially in Seward, where I apparently always have to turn back due to time, weather, fatigue, etc.). Crossing my fingers we have a lot of sunshine this summer!
I organized the hikes by regions, which should be visible to the left. If you are on the mobile site, you make have to click on the arrow next to "Home" to see the scroll down menu. Once you click on a region, the hikes are listed alphabetically.
This system will work for now, but I hope to have so many hikes posted that I'll have to reorganize somehow or make links that scroll down to each hike. Sounds like a good project to save for a rainy day! But of course I don't want any of those!
Until next time...

Blogging hopes and dreams
Super stoked for my first post on the new site! Why the new blog? To keep it short and sweet, I found myself posting less and less about running on my old blog (http://torturebyrunning.blogspot.com/) and more and more about hiking. So, I decided to create this site to strictly blog about my hiking adventures.
I've also been somewhat annoyed after pursuing hikes that I would've rated differently (Lazy Mountain is NOT somewhat easy, and Winner Creek is not a top ten hike IMO), so this is MY place to voice my thoughts and reflections about various hikes. The good news is I already have some info drafted on my old blog, so some of the work has already been started. The even better news is that I also created this blog to motivate me to get out there and hike! And not just the same old popular hikes but also hikes of various difficulties, lengths, etc.
The main source of my hiking list comes from alaskahikesearch.com. However, like I said, these hikes are rated by various types of people. On my blogs, I will try to include:
-general hike location
-length
-difficulty
-basic description/what to expect
-other information: family friendly, great for backpacking, trail running, etc.
-rating: thumbs up, down, or in the middle
-time of year I completed the hike
-a picture
If you would like more info, I urge you to check out Alaska Hike Search. This site also includes the distance the hike is from Anchorage, as well as directions, a map, and the hike season.
Please check back for updates and my latest hiking adventures. Happy trails!
